Installation from binary RPM package

Precompiled binary packages for specfe are available for the x86 architecture. The packages are tested on a Fedore Core system, they may also work on other linux distributions.

  1. Download the binary package (replace <xxx> by the latest version):

    wget http://www.bessrc.aps.anl.gov/downloadDocs/specfe/specfe-<xxx>.i386.rpm

  2. Install the package:

    sudo rpm -Uvh specfe-<xxx>.i386.rpm

  3. Try to run the package:

    cd <somewhere>

    specfe
